At the Forest Therapy Base “Taruda no Mori” there is a scenic, peaceful walking course that is over 13km long. It is not a difficult trekking course but instead a route for a leisurely stroll that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Forest therapy doesn’t involve reaching a goal within a set time or aiming to burn calories. Rather it is focussed on enjoying spending time in the forest. There are both half and full day courses available accompanied by a specialist forest therapy guide.
Following the results of a demonstration experiment Tsunan machi Forest Therapy Base Taruda no Mori was shown to have forest therapy effects on stress reduction and relaxation, and in 2008 was officially recognised by the National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization.
